Description:

This is your chance to take the ordinary plans you may have had in mind for this summer and turn them into a two-and-a-half month adventure that will stay with you for the rest of your life…

On the banks of the Amazon River, the city of Iquitos, Peru is unique—it has 450,000 inhabitants and yet there are no roads connecting it to the outside world!  The only ways in are by boat or airplane.  Iquitos will be your base as you live and travel with a Peruvian missionary family for eight weeks leading up to the time of your participation in the Amazon Faith Expedition.

This is also your chance to learn or improve your Spanish, as regular tutoring will be offered to you as part of your stay there.

Daily activities include Spanish study, attendance at a local church, and the chance to get to know the culture firsthand by living with a Peruvian family.  You will also be participating in a number of trips into the jungle as you help prepare for the annual gathering in August (see Expeditions for more information on this).

An internship with Faith Expeditions is more than just a short term mission trip.  It is your opportunity to live the life of a missionary for an extended period of time.  Afterwards, your life will never be the same.
