Why give?
The more I travel the world, the less distant everything becomes. I watch the news of racial cleansing beginning in Kenya and suddenly it’s no longer someone else’s problem because I have been there—I know the cities, I know the people, I have friends there. How can I not help?
In the same way, it’s my prayer for you that you will see the needs of those outside the confines of comfortable American Christianity and join us in giving to others, even if it’s only a small amount.
Why give here?
There’s something unique about giving through Faith Expeditions and Worldwind: 100% of what you give ends up in the hands of those who truly need it. The only exception is when there are international wiring fees that we must pay. Your money does not go to an organization…it does not pay salaries or defray administration expenses… Every bit of it goes to those for which it was intended. And of course we will give you a tax-deductible receipt for your contribution, as Worldwind is a registered, non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
What are the needs?
KENYA—Emergency funds needed urgently for an orphanage we support outside of Kisumu—one of the flashpoints of recent violence. The twelve children in this orphanage are currently surviving on just one meal a day. We are asking for gifts of any size.
AMAZON—Here is your chance to give directly toward the discipleship of Christians and Christian leaders in the Amazon jungle. Your gift will help us feed and clothe over a thousand Peruvians for five days this summer as they gather at their annual conference to grow and be trained. Please consider giving in gifts of $500 or $1000.
YOUTH AND COLLEGE AGE SCHOLARSHIPS—The vision of Faith Expeditions is to transform the lives of American Christians as they help transform the lives of others with the good news of Jesus. Will you help make this transformation possible for a youth or college age adult who wants to go on a Faith Expedition but is financially unable? We are asking for gifts of $50, $100, $500 or $1000.
