Statement of Faith for Worldwind and Faith Expeditions
We believe…
We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writing, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of man and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith, life, and conduct. II Tim. 3:15-16; I Cor. 14:37; II Pet. 1:20-21; Prov. 30:5-6
We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Deut. 6:4, 32:4; Rev. 4:11; Mat. 5:48; Jn. 10:30; Isa. 43:13; Gen. 1:26; Act. 5:3-4, 7:55-56
We believe Jesus Christ, without any change in His eternal deity, became man through conception by the Holy Spirit and virgin birth, that He died on the cross, a perfect and complete sacrifice, in our stead and for our sins according to the Scriptures. He arose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of the Majesty on high, He is now our High Priest and Advocate. Phil. 2:5-11; Heb. 2:9, 5:7-8, 9:24, 12:2; Mat. 1:18-25; Luk. 1:34; I Tim. 2:5; I Cor. 15:3-4; II Cor. 5:15; Act. 17:31; I Jn. 2:1
We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict of sin and regenerate the sinner upon believing in Christ, at the time of regeneration, baptizing the believer into the one body of which Christ is the head; and to indwell, guide, instruct, fill, and empower the believer for godly living and service. We believe that all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and the fivefold ministry gifts of the Spirit are for the entire Church age. We minister healing for the sick and minister deliverance to those oppressed by the devil. Jn. 14:12, 16-17, 16:8, 13, 20:21; Tit. 3:5; Eph. 1:13-14; Act. 1:8; Heb. 3:5, 13:8; Mar. 16:17-18, Mat. 28:19-20; I Cor. 12:4-7
We believe that man was directly created by God in His own image, but fell into sin. Therefore, the entire human race has become totally morally depraved and is lost, and only through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, and regeneration of the Holy Spirit, can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. Act. 20:21; Gen. 1:26; II Tim. 2:25 Luk. 5:32, 24:47-48; Rom. 3:9-20, 5:12-17
We believe that the atoning death of Jesus Christ, and His resurrection, provide the only ground of justification and salvation for all who believe, and that only such as receive Jesus Christ by personal faith are born of the Holy Spirit and by Him are sealed to the day of redemption. Rom. 4:5, 22-25; Act. 26:23; Jn. 1:11-13, 5:29; Eph. 1:13-15
We believe that all the saved should live in such manner as will honor and glorify and not bring reproach upon their Savior and Lord, and that God instructs us to remain separate from false (Unbiblical) doctrines, sinful pleasures and practices. Eph. 5:1-5; Luk. 3:8; Mat. 5:3-9, 7:16-21, 25:34-40; Gal. 5:13-23; I Cor. 6:9-11, 15:33-34; Eph. 5:11-18; Col 3:17; Rom. 16:17-19
We believe in the physical and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that the hope of His appearing has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. Act. 1:10-11, 3:19-21; Jn. 14:2-3; I Thes. 4:13-18; Rev. 22:20; I Jn. 3:1
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all the dead-of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to eternal judgment. Mat. 22:30; Luk 14:14; Jn. 5:29; Act. 4:2, 24:15; I Cor. 15:12-21; Phil. 3:11; Rev. 20:12-15
We believe that water baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during this present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation. Mat. 28:19; Act. 2:38-41, 8:35-38; Rom. 6:4-6; I Cor. 5:8, 11:23-29
We believe that there is one true universal Church, made up of genuine believers, but this one universal Church is also composed of many local churches in given localities. These churches are under the sovereign Headship of the Lord Jesus Christ, exercising autonomous government under Him, administering all its local affairs and ministry, as well as the propagation of the Gospel. Act. 15:22; Mat. 16:18; 18:15-20
